Hurricane Sandy
We were very fortunate here in Annapolis, as the storm didn't hit as hard as we had planned for. The eve before the storm I went down to the Dock and it was eerie...stores were boarded up and/or their windows were taped with a big X. Sandbags were placed on top of each other. Flooding was truly anticipated and with the high tide we surely expected City Dock to be under water. We were lucky. Many were not. I heard today on the news, from the Secretary of Homeland Security, that the storm was as big as Europe! I hope you feel as I do and that in times like these, when we feel helpless there is a way of helping. Here is the Red Cross link. I hope you can contribute. Food, shelter and support...it's what we do...thanks!
