Our herb and vegetable garden!
“If you look the right way, you can see that the whole world is a garden.”
― Frances Hodgson Burnett, The Secret Garden
Last fall I was walking on Compromise Street towards Edgewater and on my right was quite a lively vegetable garden surrounded by a fence. On the fence was a sign GrowAnnapolis.org explaining it was a community garden. Well, I took note of it, went back to the Inn and applied on their website. Well I was so excited, I got my plot. As you may know our Inn does not have a 'yard', part of the charm of being a pedestrian friendly Inn in the heart of historic Annapolis! Well, 2 weeks ago we planted our 'crop' which in my case included: Red Lettuce, Romaine, 3 types of mint, parsley, chives, basil and tomatoes! I can't wait to bake my Tomato Basil Frittata with my 'harvest' from the garden. I will keep you posted on the progress. This is what it looked like on 'Planting day'!
And as promised, here's an update of our garden at end of May...woo hoo, look out tomatoes!
